Voting in Hela Province to end on Monday 25 June
Assistance Police Commissioner and Coordinator of the National Elections Operations 2012 in Hela, Thomas Eluh this afternoon confirmed that the polling process in the Province will end by this afternoon.
The last of the areas which needed to be covered today is the Busava LLG, as the weather was not welcoming yesterday when officials attempted to break through in order to land in the area.
Mr Eluh confirmed only minor security issues like the blocking off roads by disgruntled supporters and candidates, which are being monitored by his 830 police officers on ground.
He said despite concerns raised following media coverage of the province, no major deaths or security issues occurred over the weekend in Hela, as police have managed to cover safety for voters in all three districts of the province.
